Development meeting - save the date
Hi, I am calling a development meeting for Tuesday, 25 February 2014, to be held in the #koha IRC channel. All are welcome, but the focus will be on development topics. Tentatively, I would like to discuss the following topics: - DBIx::Class and guidelines for its use in Koha - Search engine work, including enhancements to usage of Zebra and Elastic Search - Pending large enhancements for 3.16 The agenda is being kept intentionally short to permit an in-depth discussion of each item, but if there is a topic that you want to be covered and which requires the participation of most or all of the active developers, please let me know. To permit everybody to participate, I propose that we effectively meet /twice/ that day. 15:00 UTC+0 (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=xxx&iso=20140225T15) and 21:00 UTC+0 (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=xxx&iso=20140225T21) I will be attending both parts, of course, and will try to act as a bridge between the two sessions. I'll attend the 1st one, and hope many/some ppl from BibLibre will join me. The agenda sounds good to me. 2 questions though: * do you think any decision will result from those meetings ? how to manage decision in a double time meeting ? * is there something we should prepare ? (for example, are you expecting some of us come with ideas/suggestions ? should we put them on the wiki before the meeting ? do you already have some suggestions ? thx for organizing this meeting anyway. I think we should have it regularly. -- Paul POULAIN - BibLibre http://www.biblibre.com Free & Open Source Softwares for libraries Koha, Drupal, Piwik, Jasper

Just in case people have not noticed, I have taken the liberty of turning Galen's email into a wikipage for the meeting: http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Developers_IRC_Meeting,_February_25,_201... See you there! Magnus

One option would be to use the Crowd Wise decision-making process. The full thing is http://www.neweconomics.org/projects/crowd-wise but summary: gather all ideas plus option 0 (do nothing) if possible, carry out a de Borda (preference) voting round 1, merge/amend/consolidate ideas, voting round 2 if needed. We could do round 1 in meeting 1 and round 2 in meeting 2. Would that be OK? I'll ask for a co-op member (maybe me) to count the votes if it would help... I don't think our meetbot does votes. I see the great Magnus has made a wiki page already. Please visit it and flesh out with facts for the discussions! Who's done or wants to do what on each of the three points? http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Developers_IRC_Meeting,_February_25,_201...
