Convert circ tables to AJAX - possible for 3.16.1 ?
Hello All - http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=11703 So Kyle and Katrin have been working many many hours on getting the patch referenced above to Pass QA. The only problem is we ran out of time to safely get this into the general release and have enough time for some good thorough testing - If only we had another two weeks. I would like to promote this as a performance bug fix and that should be included in the first point release for 3.16 - 3.16.1... Performance bugs are perfectly acceptable for point releases and I think if we look at it that way - we have 2 months to test this thoroughly. It's passed PA and Galen also added some additional comments - which Kyle did follow up on. Thoughts? I’m glad to see this underway - thanks for making this happen everybody! This made me curious enough to learn how to use the sandboxes :) I left my comments in Bugzilla but chose to answer here too just to voice my support of quicker issuing. With all issuing done by the staff this is an important improvement. +1 FRIDO = I'd like to have it on 3.14 as well ! (CLAIRE, BibLibre-business message: that would fix something CG55 is complaining on ;-) )

I agree. -1 to backporting this to 3.14.x. Backporting it to 3.16.x for inclusion to 3.16.1 stretches the rule of "no major enhancements in maintenance releases" a bit, but does so in the name of a worthy performance gain and and acknowledgment of the consideration that there's only a month's span of time between the release of 3.16.0 and 3.16.1. Folks should consider bug 11703 impetus for upgrading to 3.16.1.
