Sanjil, I don't know what the permissions problem is. The permissions are normal; don't know why you can't change them. I guess they must be owned by root. You should have an ssh account anyway. I understand the concept of what happens, Sanjil. I just don't want to spend the time doing it myself. Maybe you can talk to Yanyong about how to fix this? I don't know. Joshua has now enabled Turkish, Spanish, Greek and Arabic on the www.koha.org site. All you should need to do is register as a user, then login. Each page should then have a translate link.
Have a try and please ask if you get stuck :)
