This is a configuration problem with the system, a MARC framework that knows
about the copyright field will properly fill it in the MARC record editor ...
same goes when MARC is off.

A side note is that there are many places in MARC21 to store the copyright
date:

 008 (two places)
 260
 362

And ... the fact that MARC21 doesn't distinguish between copyright and
publication date.
