This could probably be fixed if the installation script would grant
lock_tables_priv to the kohaadmin user.  I manually granted that privilege to
kohaadmin, and the error no longer appears when I run bulkmarcimport.

If this were fixed, it would also allow me to automate backups of the database
using kohaadmin--root mysql access wouldn't be necessary.  :)
