Along with enhancement request number 1885, it would make sense to keep the
patron apprised of the process related to their request.  My public library did
something great when I requested a book.  They emailed me to tell me that my
request was approved, they emailed me when the book arrived, and they
automatically put he book on hold for me so that I could be the first patron to
have the book.  As a patron I felt pretty good to be included in the process as
my request moved through the system - it also made it feel like I wasn't just
being ignored.
