Can we not get the best of both worlds here?  Somewhat like we do for account
debit and credit types.. i.e. a drop-down that comes with a set of default
values which we can put in the templates to allow for easy translation and a
final fallback to a custom freetext description preference for libraries that
really want a custom name for it and aren't worried about a multi-lingual opac?
