We've been saying this kind of thing would not be developer-friendly for years,
and it's time to get over it!

- Developers are smart. Most of them are smarter than me and I can handle this
fine. 

- It's not more work for translators. It's *easier* work for translators. Right
now the translation files are a mess because we're trying to parse language
strings out of a mess of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. We humans are the ones who
know which strings should be translated so we should tell the computer.
