I agree to say it should be included in next stable release.
I'll try to test your patch. But i'm not sure to have enough time.
It's not that i don't want to do it.

Note that if another developper want to test it, he can :-) (bugs 417 & 456)
Note I could ask pate to add you to dev list and you could take care of 
it yourself. Pate what do you think of this ?
