Hi, Rachel,

I just got through viewing the Admin Screens and I think the overall look is
great. :-) Very clean and easy to follow.

As a cataloguer, I would suggest separation of Acquisitions from
Cataloguing. Traditionally, they are considered separate functions as
technical services.

Otherwise, on that screen, you would need to have Cataloguing as a heading
above MARC options as well, since all MARC is is a format for cataloguers to
standardise and exchange information and save on labour.

Searching, not incidentally, can be seen, legitimately, as related to
Cataloguing and the Admin Search page could be included with cataloguing,
wherever it goes, since stop words are related to Authorities.

I just wanted to clarify one thing (that the new screens reminded me of) in
case I am understanding it wrong: can the OPAC display be set as non-MARC
and the Intranet as MARC?

As for MARC-specific things: I don't know if someone is working on it, but
Koha would need to learn to deal with MARC Authority files eventually, if it
is to have a fair shot at larger academic libraries in North America, where
many a cataloguing department is obeisant to OCLC and LC auths.

While I find the idea of little library things to do vs. big library things
to do list options interesting -- especially as Koha could be adapted for
different types of collections beyond the chiefly monographic library --,
the vast majority of libraries of any size have to do all the same things:
it is usually just a matter of scale that determines some priorities.

All in all, I quite like the new screens, Rachel. Brava!
