Can I just add that libraries don't care how it's coded, they want 
features. So we (at least BibLibre) never are paid to improve code, we 
are paid to add feature.

That should not be an excuse, but that's what we face. However, the 
positive aspect of this is that, with LibLime & BibLibre growing, we can 
expect to be able to self-fund the code improvement.
