Hie,

Do you talk about "merge" method in AuthoritiesMarc.pm ?

I agree, behavior should be the same as when you use the "thesaurus" plugin
in biblio fields edition.
Subfieds of authority field are imported but existing subfields are not
removed.

You may open a bug.
