I can't test right now, but maybe you can try to compare a set of files you update yourself from 3.10 with the ones on pootle?

We face the same question for french: 3.10 is 98% done, and 3.12 is only
69% done. With a lot of strings unchanged, but translation seems to have
been lost.

Any explanation welcomed !
