This is a feature I've long wanted in Koha. I've just taken a quick peek at the code, so just going to ask for some clarification. At a glance, it looks like a 001 will be assigned for original cataloguing or copy cataloguing using the Cataloguing UI (even if it already has a 001), is that right? That sounds good to me. I wonder about Staged MARC Imports though. At a glance, I think those will retain their original 001 and won't get updated. I think that might be problematic.
