The staff who manage the items are not the same as those who edit the records, so for us, item management is not considered "cataloging." Searching the reservoir is absolutely useless to us; it just gets in the way every time we accidentally stumble upon it. The only time we use the repository is when we import acquisition records, but within seconds of importing them into the reservoir , we validate the creation of the records in the catalog, so we *never* need to search the reservoir
