The hosts are selected with a subquery on item_bundles.host rather than joining and grouping on me.itemnumber: the join form selected all the items columns while grouping by one, which fails with "'me.biblionumber' isn't in GROUP BY" when ONLY_FULL_GROUP_BY is in effect (MariaDB).
