[Bug 43181] New: Change "Import" to "Stage" on Z39.50/SRU UI
https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=43181 Bug ID: 43181 Summary: Change "Import" to "Stage" on Z39.50/SRU UI Initiative type: --- Sponsorship --- status: Product: Koha Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: Z39.50 / SRU / OpenSearch Servers Assignee: koha-bugs@lists.koha-community.org Reporter: dcook@prosentient.com.au QA Contact: testopia@bugs.koha-community.org CC: m.de.rooy@rijksmuseum.nl Target Milestone: --- Every time I'm giving training for Koha, I have to say "Import" in the Z39.50/SRU UI does not actually import your record into Koha. It stages it for editing. If you don't save the record, it won't be imported - it'll just sit in the reservoir. So I think a better label would be "Stage" instead of "Import", but I'm open to ideas! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. You are the assignee for the bug.
https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=43181 --- Comment #1 from Katrin Fischer <katrin.fischer@bsz-bw.de> --- I have a hard time to come up with a nice translation for "Stage". Hm. Maybe "Download" or something "Import to edit"? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. You are watching all bug changes.

Yeah I was just thinking that "Stage" would be tough for translation. Since the text goes on the button, I think we'll want it to be quite short. What about "Load", "Edit", "Open", "Use" or "Review"? Or "Choose"? When we're adding authorities to bib records we use "Choose" for the button label. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=43181 --- Comment #4 from Aude Charillon <aude.charillon@openfifth.co.uk> --- I've never had a problem with this, as I never not save the record once in the editor! :-D As it's clearly a problem for others, happy for the wording to be changed. "Stage" would fit with the file import workflow - where the records do end up in the reservoir. Happy with "Choose" otherwise. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. You are watching all bug changes.
https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=43181 --- Comment #5 from Caroline Cyr La Rose <caroline.cyr-la-rose@inlibro.com> --- Unrelated, but I translate "Stage for import" to something like "Prepare for import". I'd never heard the term "stage" in that sense before working with Koha and git and I feel like it's very developer-oriented. In short, not a fan of "Stage". As for the Import term, to me it makes sense. You get the record from the other catalog and import it in the editor to make it yours. Like Aude, I never not save the record after I import it. If you cancel, then it's not imported. If we absolutely have to change it, I'd go with Choose, like when we "Choose" an authority. But my first choice would be to keep "Import". -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. You are the assignee for the bug.

I'll just talk about it in terms of Importing it into the editor rather than importing it into the catalogue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
