https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=26757 --- Comment #6 from Christopher Brannon <cbrannon@cdalibrary.org> --- I would add, that if a test were made for either/both, it would be beneficial for Koha to send it out right away rather than wait for the usual cron. Since this is a test, and it is like a patron is standing around waiting for a confirmation. It might also be useful for there to be some kind of indicator in Koha that the message was verified by a link in the test. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=26757 --- Comment #8 from Andrew Fuerste-Henry <andrew@bywatersolutions.com> --- Bug 40933 adds the ability to send a one-off SMS to a patron without having to set up some sort of triggering action/scenario. That seems like it would meet the basic need here. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. You are watching all bug changes.

Thanks for sharing that. I think that would cover this need for sure. That said, I would've never found the SMS feature from bug 40933 in a million years on my own O_O. The labelling could use improvement... And maybe leveraging the same feature a button could be added next to the SMS number under "Patron messaging preferences". I'll add a follow up bug report for that. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. You are watching all bug changes.

Actually, I don't know why there would be a test button on the OPAC interface... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. You are the assignee for the bug.

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=26757 --- Comment #11 from David Cook <dcook@prosentient.com.au> --- Recently, I was troubleshooting a SMS issue, and I actually found that I had to hack on C4::SMS to try to figure out what was going on. That said, I figured out the problem in the end based off my own thinking than the hacking. In Australia, we have a new SMS Sender ID Register to help cut down on cybercrime: https://www.acma.gov.au/sms-sender-id-register Some SMS gateways won't accept your message if the "from" you use is invalid, but it's not clear from C4::SMS why your message isn't accepted... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. Because sometimes a patron wants to know that they have set things up correctly, and they also might want to know what an incoming message is going to look like so they can make sure it isn't caught as spam. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=26757 --- Comment #13 from Christopher Brannon <cbrannon@cdalibrary.org> --- If something could work similar to what https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=40933 does, but is a button next to the SMS setup in the patron account, automates the message and selection of SMS so all you have to do is push a test button, that would be great. But I notice that in this bug, it goes into queue, and you have to wait. Not good for testing purposes. Somehow, a test scenario needs to allow the message to go straight out rather than in a queue. That's an interesting idea. With rate limiting, that could work. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. You are the assignee for the bug.

Bug 43194 would be part way there. And that's a good point about the on-demand vs the queue. Bug 32403 talks about that too I think. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. You are the assignee for the bug.
