Those files are unlikely to have changed recently, so it could be that you're having problems with your permissions. This is starting to sound more like a support issue: I'd suggest you look at some of these options (especially the Mattermost chat) https://koha-community.org/support/ -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=40863 --- Comment #15 from sergeinik <sergeinik@tut.by> --- Well, if it were a permissions issue, it wouldn't have been resolved by replacing the new file with the old one. Especially since the problem appeared after a specific update, and to solve it, you had to search your archive for a version with a working file by trying different versions. And after the problem appeared, all subsequent versions come with a broken file, which has to be replaced with the old one, and indexing starts working again. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. Well, if it were a permissions issue, it wouldn't have been resolved by replacing the new file with the old one.
It could be depending on the permissions of the new one. Permissions issues are a classic problem when it comes to Zebra indexing with Koha.
Especially since the problem appeared after a specific update, and to solve it, you had to search your archive for a version with a working file by trying different versions. And after the problem appeared, all subsequent versions come with a broken file, which has to be replaced with the old one, and indexing starts working again.
That does sound very odd and we haven't gotten any other reports like that. What's the problem file? Again, I think a more appropriate venue for this would be the Mattermost chat or the mailing list. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. When I use version 25.05.05.001 on Debian 12 in a virtual machine, this error occurs. It can be resolved only by replacing the rebuild_zebra.pl file from version 24.05.15.
All right. I didn't notice that part before. Looking at it now... It looks like that file was tidied between v24.05.15-2 and v25.05.05-1 but we can diff without the whitespace changes... Most interesting change jumping out at me is the following. Might be something there... that actually sounds familiar... - $marc = $biblio->metadata->record({ embed_items => 1 }); + $marc = $biblio->metadata_record( { embed_items => 1 } ); Hmm but no that looks all right. Replacing export_marc_records_from_sth with export_marc_records could have an impact... -- But... here's the rub... there's almost no difference between 25.05.05-1 and main, and the following works fine: sudo koha-rebuild-zebra -v -f kohadev -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. You are the assignee for the bug.

These? .error retrieving biblio 4246 at /usr/share/koha/bin/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl line 778. .error retrieving biblio 4247 at /usr/share/koha/bin/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl line 778. .error retrieving biblio 4248 at /usr/share/koha/bin/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl line 778.
Nothing more in the logs? Does the first thing when lauching the reindex is "error retrieving biblio" ?
So let's look at this a bit more... git show v25.05.05-1:misc/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl | vim - 764 sub get_raw_marc_record { 765 my ( $record_type, $record_number ) = @_; 766 767 my $marc; 768 if ( $record_type eq 'biblio' ) { 769 eval { 770 my $biblio = Koha::Biblios->find($record_number); 771 $marc = $biblio->metadata_record( { embed_items => 1 } ); 772 }; 773 if ( $@ || !$marc ) { 774 775 # here we do warn since catching an exception 776 # means that the bib was found but failed 777 # to be parsed 778 warn "error retrieving biblio $record_number"; 779 return; 780 } 781 } else { 782 eval { $marc = GetAuthority($record_number); }; 783 if ($@) { 784 warn "error retrieving authority $record_number"; 785 return; 786 } 787 } 788 return $marc; 789 } As I noted above there was a line change between versions: - $marc = $biblio->metadata->record({ embed_items => 1 }); + $marc = $biblio->metadata_record( { embed_items => 1 } ); Now "metadata_record" in Koha/Biblio.pm actually calls $biblio->metadata->record() instead itself and then performs some additional work. It looks like the problem you're facing is probably at the stage of the MARC interacting with Koha::RecordProcessor. It's possible there's a bug in it, but... I still think it's a strong possibility that there's some problems lurking in your MARC data or item data. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. I downloaded the old version 24.05.15, extracted the rebuild_zebra.pl file, and replaced it in the program's installation directory. Indexing and searching worked without problems. So, you have an error in the new file!
By the way, it doesn't hurt to be polite. Koha is the product of many hours of volunteer work by developers all around the world. I'm not getting paid right now when I add these comments. I'm doing it because I have over 14 years of experience with Koha, and I like to share that experience. It is possible that there is an error in the new file. It's also possible there is an error in your data and the new code is more strict. Let's figure it out together and work to resolve any problems. It's not really "us" and "them" or "you" and "me".

I wouldn't say I'm offended. "So, you have an error in the new file!" is presumptuous. I will keep in mind that you're using a translator. But this is taking into account that the file has been replaced.
So when I do a search for https://lib.cxbe.by/cgi-bin/koha/opac-search.pl?idx=&q=isbn%3D9771993104006&weight_search=1 that is using the Koha with the replaced rebuild_zebra.pl file from an older version? While there are search results, if you look closely, you'll see that all the links are bad. For example, "Благодать", христианский журнал. № 2/2021 has this link: https://lib.cxbe.by/cgi-bin/koha/opac-detail.pl?biblionumber=&query_desc=isbn%3D9771993104006 The biblionumber has no value. This usually happens when there's indexing problems. If I modify it myself (using information from your screenshot) I can go to https://lib.cxbe.by/cgi-bin/koha/opac-detail.pl?biblionumber=3896&query_desc=isbn%3D9771993104006 and I see data, but if I click on "MARC view" or try to download the record I also get a "Error 500". At this point, you'll want to look at your web server logs. If you're using Plack, they'll be in the "plack-*" logs. If you're not using Plack, then they'll be in the Apache logs. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. You are the assignee for the bug.

UNIMARC is used more by French and Italian Koha developers, and you'll find them more on https://chat.koha-community.org/koha-community/channels/town-square -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=40863 --- Comment #47 from David Cook <dcook@prosentient.com.au> --- I suspect it wouldn't take long for an experienced Koha engineer to review, diagnose, and fix your problem if they had server access. The more information you provide, the easier it will be for people to help. As Katrin was saying, most people use USMARC/MARC21, so issues particular to UNIMARC are less likely to get caught. BibLibre is probably the biggest company working with it, so you could try reaching out to them more directly for help too. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. In etc/zebradb/marc_defs/unimarc/biblios/biblio-zebra-indexdefs.xsl it looks like both 001 and 090$9 are indexed into Local-number... -- What version were you on in the past before updating to Debian 13? The very first installation was done on Debian 8, and the version of Kona that was current at the time was installed. Then, as development progressed, I updated the OS and Kona versions. For our localization, Unimark was recommended at the time. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. You are watching all bug changes.

So I was asking you about the most recent one. Honestly, I think you would benefit most from some paid support. You can see more information here: https://koha-community.org/support/paid-support/ You'd be able to pay someone to help you more particularly. I think the amount of detailed support you're going to need for this one goes beyond what we volunteers can offer remotely. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
