Hello all,
The lists on lists.koha-community.org were supported by BibLibre for
years (decades ?). We were managing the server, that was pretty old.
Thus, we have moved:
* from a dedicated server to mailmanlists.net service
* from mailman2 to mailman3
What does it change ?
* Sending an email => no change
* Searching archive => they are now available on
https://lists.koha-community.org/archives/
*moderating* If someone (especially from koha-de, koha-oz or koha-es)
want a moderator access for a list, just drop me an email. You'll be
empowered to validate list subscription and moderate message too large
or not sent by a subscriber.

Dear Koha Community Members,
I am pleased to share two new open-source Koha plugins developed to address
practical needs of modern libraries: *ShelfNavigator* and *Event Manager*.
As a library technology professional with extensive experience working with
library systems and open-source solutions, I have developed these plugins
with the goal of improving library workflows, enhancing user experience,
and providing practical tools for Koha libraries.
*ShelfNavigator – Koha Item Location & Library Wayfinding Plugin*
ShelfNavigator helps libraries simplify physical item discovery by
connecting Koha item locations with interactive shelf maps.
*Key features:*
- Displays a *"Find on Map"* option in the OPAC item details.
- Provides interactive library maps for easier book location discovery.
- Supports configuration of floors, sections, rows, and shelf locations.
- Allows mapping of collection ranges using classification numbers
(e.g., DDC ranges).
- Helps users quickly navigate from catalog search results to the
physical shelf location.
- Improves user experience in large academic and public libraries.
*Event Manager – Koha Library Events Management Plugin*
Event Manager helps libraries organize, manage, and promote library
activities directly within the Koha environment.
*Key features:*
- Create and manage library events, workshops, orientations, and
training sessions.
- Maintain event details including title, date, time, location,
description, and organizer information.
- Provide an organized view of upcoming library activities.
- Support libraries in promoting engagement activities and improving
communication with users.
- Helps integrate library programming workflows with the library
management environment.
Both plugins are developed with the aim of supporting the Koha community by
providing practical, easy-to-use solutions that libraries can customize
according to their needs.
I welcome feedback, suggestions, testing, and collaboration from Koha
users, developers, and community members. Your feedback will help improve
these plugins and make them more useful for libraries worldwide.
