Hello all, The lists on lists.koha-community.org were supported by BibLibre for years (decades ?). We were managing the server, that was pretty old. Thus, we have moved: * from a dedicated server to mailmanlists.net service * from mailman2 to mailman3 What does it change ? * Sending an email => no change * Searching archive => they are now available on https://lists.koha-community.org/archives/ *moderating* If someone (especially from koha-de, koha-oz or koha-es) want a moderator access for a list, just drop me an email. You'll be empowered to validate list subscription and moderate message too large or not sent by a subscriber. Introducing New Koha Plugins: ShelfNavigator and Event Manager

Dear Koha Community Members, I am pleased to share two new open-source Koha plugins developed to address practical needs of modern libraries: *ShelfNavigator* and *Event Manager*. As a library technology professional with extensive experience working with library systems and open-source solutions, I have developed these plugins with the goal of improving library workflows, enhancing user experience, and providing practical tools for Koha libraries. *ShelfNavigator – Koha Item Location & Library Wayfinding Plugin* ShelfNavigator helps libraries simplify physical item discovery by connecting Koha item locations with interactive shelf maps. *Key features:* - Displays a *"Find on Map"* option in the OPAC item details. - Provides interactive library maps for easier book location discovery. - Supports configuration of floors, sections, rows, and shelf locations. - Allows mapping of collection ranges using classification numbers (e.g., DDC ranges). - Helps users quickly navigate from catalog search results to the physical shelf location. - Improves user experience in large academic and public libraries. *Event Manager – Koha Library Events Management Plugin* Event Manager helps libraries organize, manage, and promote library activities directly within the Koha environment. *Key features:* - Create and manage library events, workshops, orientations, and training sessions. - Maintain event details including title, date, time, location, description, and organizer information. - Provide an organized view of upcoming library activities. - Support libraries in promoting engagement activities and improving communication with users. - Helps integrate library programming workflows with the library management environment. Both plugins are developed with the aim of supporting the Koha community by providing practical, easy-to-use solutions that libraries can customize according to their needs. I welcome feedback, suggestions, testing, and collaboration from Koha users, developers, and community members. Hi Jane, That's a good question. More and more Australian libraries are using AustLang for the 041$a or as subject headings. The latter is easy because AIATSIS can provide MARC records, but the 041$a is much harder. I think your best bet is to get your vendor to compile a custom authorized value list for you including both AustLang and whichever other code lists you want (you can see more about this at https://www.loc.gov/marc/bibliographic/bd041.html) and link it to the 041$a in the relevant MARC Bibliographic frameworks. I can't think of any way out-of-the-box for you to do it without having to add each entry by hand via the web user interface. Hope that helps! Hi Koha Community, After adding AustLang thesaurus for Australian languages, how have others incorporated this into their cataloguing framework with MARC code list for languages? Koha can not have multiple lists of values for one subfield (041). Ex Libris have apparently enhanced 'the controlled vocabulary used in field 041 $a by expanding it to include a broader list of language codes, combining the current MARC21 standard with codes from ISO 639-3.' Hi Alan, These days the best place to post questions is on the Koha chat at https://chat.koha-community.org/ It sounds like you might have a few different things going on here. If Apache can find maintenance.pl but is returning a 500 error, that means that your file is likely missing the execute permission on the file system. However, that also means you're running in CGI mode, which is problematic. You'd need to change over to using Plack mode. The best, most widely supported way of installing Koha is to install using Debian packages on Debian/Ubuntu using instructions like these: https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Koha_on_Debian If you're using a different installation method on a different OS, it'll be harder to set up. Hi list, I'm a brand-new subscriber, working with a library that's installing Koha for the first time. Going to our main Koha page, we get "Internal Server Error" and the URL has changed to "site.org/cgi-bin/koha/maintenance.pl". Apache shows a 500 error trying to find maintenance.pl. Our server folks are baffled. They think they have followed the installation instructions correctly, but we're not able to access anything. I don't know where to look or what to check or how to fix it. Can someone point me to documentation that might help, to a report of a similar problem, or tell me what to look at in order to diagnose and fix the problem? British Library z39.50 connection timeout

Hi everyone, Can anyone tell me if the following messages: 'connection timeout to z3950cat.bl.uk' and 'connection failed to unicorn.nhm.ac.uk' may be due to changes set up to protect data since the cyber incident the British Library sustained in October 2023? I'm not sure if it's password related but if so, I believe we can't change passwords associated with their services because their services remain unavailable. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Items reverting to default borrow time

Hello, I am running a very old version of Koha. My "equipment" items that were previously set for a borrow timeframe of (for example) 1hour have reverted yesterday to a set return date. It appeared to be 5 days from the borrow date - however the return date is still the same date when tried today. Nothing has/had been changed anywhere in our sytems front or back end. SSO Shibboleth & oauth issues

Hey everyone, I am Justin from the Tenants’ Union of NSW. Lovely to meet you all, albeit in an archaic manner. There is a Koha issue I am having trouble resolving… It’s a strange issue with Shibboleth and now I think the same issue displayed differently with oauth (that I wanted to implement as an alternative), both using the same IdP, and definitely isolated to Koha and/or the server running it. I believe it’s a caching issue of some sort… When I get redirected back to Koha after a successful login with Shibboleth, I get a HTTP 500 error, with this console output, unsure if actually related or not: (index):6577 crbug/1173575, non-JS module files deprecated. (anonymous) @ (index):6577 Refreshing the page redirects once again with a successful login. Oauth has a similar issue. I am redirected back to Koha after a successful login with the identity provider and I am greeted with an error message: > There was an error authenticating to external identity provider: > wrong_csrf_token Refreshing doesn't fix it but clicking the IdP login link again redirects back with a successful login and token. My theory is the redirect is happening too quickly before the token is actually retrieved. I've looked in Shibboleth's logs and have yet to see anything obvious. OPAC holdings display on mobile devices

Dear all, When displaying OPAC holding information on a mobile device, they are similar to one for desktop computers. This means columns are very narrow to show holding details in a more readable way. Have I missed a new setting somewhere to change how holding information are displayed on mobile devices?
