Problems with translating Card into Spanish
Hi, Hi everybody I was discussing with Bernardo about the word "Card." We have problems to translate into spanish because, in different modules, the word meaning different things. Bernardo told me that it's impossible to change the string in Pootle program and, he advised me about it and told me that there are some problems with the word "term" too. I wonder if you can change the word in the original language (i.e., Engilish language) to some synonymous. -- Regards, Héctor Eduardo Castro Avalos
Hi in French, for years, we have translated it by "Carte". But it oftent seems very strange. We have "Vue carte", for card view, but it means nothing for a french user ;-) Mathieu Hector Castro a écrit :

Okidoki. I said this because Card for us in the patron module mean "Carné" and in cataloging is "Ficha" It seem to be that isn't a big difference but the users realize about it. On Wed, Nov 20, 2013 at 10:59 AM, Mathieu Saby <mathieu.saby@univ-rennes2.fr

Hello all, just saying, that we have the same problem with these words ("term" and "card") also in czech language. We've tried to do some "creative" translation, but sometimes it looks really strange. Regards Joseph On Wed, Nov 20, 2013 at 6:46 PM, Mathieu Saby <mathieu.saby@univ-rennes2.fr>wrote:

In fact, things are pretty simple: if the same english word is used for 2 different things, you can be sure there is at least one language, where there are translation problems. So, if someone sees another word that is disambiguated, please add it to bug 11285 ( http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=11285 ) -- Paul POULAIN - BibLibre http://www.biblibre.com Free & Open Source Softwares for libraries Koha, Drupal, Piwik, Jasper
Can I add 'items' on a list and 'items' for holdings? Heh. On Fri, Nov 22, 2013 at 4:54 AM, Paul Poulain <paul.poulain@biblibre.com>wrote:
