This survey, now in its ninth annual iteration, provides an opportunity for libraries to register their perceptions of the strategic automation products they use, organizations that provide these products, and the quality of support delivered. The survey also probes at considerations for migrating to new systems and the level of interest in open source products. As open source software supported both by the general community and by a variety of different service firms, some special considerations apply to Koha. In the libraries.org directory, Koha is represented by a combination of the name Koha and the primary support organization involved. (For example Koha - Catalyst IT, Koha -- ByWater Solutions). Libraries relying entirely on community support or internal resources are represented as Koha - Independent. If there are any special support arrangements not covered by these conventions, just mention that in the comments area of the survey. In this way the survey will be able to reflect both the functionality of the Koha software and the quality of support provided. This model of representing libraries using Koha isn't ideal, but is a pragmatic approach that aggregates all users of Koha while also segregating the different support scenarios. While the numeric rating scales support the statistical results of the study, it's the comments offered that provide the most insight into the current state of library automation satisfaction. Comments will be published in the survey results, redacted to conceal text that might identify the individual or organization responding. The raw data for the survey will not be shared, but reports are available that provide a variety of ways to view results. Please help your fellow librarians who might be in the process of evaluating library automation options by responding to the survey. Any information regarding vendor performance and product quality can be helpful when making strategic decisions regarding automation alternatives. A large number of responses strengthen the impact of the survey and the subsequent report. If you have responded in previous years, please respond again this year to help identify any trends regarding improvement or worsening of the products or support services. Koha: document delivery and inter library loan

There was a koha developers meeting this morning. Some discussion occurred around document delivery, which Kyle Hall from ByWater Solutions (USA) is working on. I thought I'd share a couple of links here to bring you up to date on how a couple of gaps in Koha are currently being addressed. Koha User's Meeting Monday August 10th at 6pm at the Athenaeum Library

Hello to all Koha Users, I am happy to invite you to the next Koha User's Meeting to be held on Monday August 10th at 6pm at the Melbourne Athenaeum Library, 188 Collins Street, Melbourne. Please note the date and new starting time, our host library has changed its opening hours, so 6pm suits the library better, and probably most of us. Besides hearing how people are faring with Koha, some other topics for discussion are: Integrating Koha with Overdrive Analytics – how and when to use them Bootstrap Please feel free to suggest any other ideas related to using Koha. Also if you know of any Koha Users who would be interested to attend the meeting (and dinner afterwards) please spread the word. I have already had an email from Damian Kelly who has "implemented a Koha system at the Castlemaine Art Gallery and Historical Museum. I'm purely a volunteer at the gallery, but used to be a university systems librarian and IT specialist prior to retirement." We look forward to meeting you Damian. Koha Users Group Meeting?

Hello Koha Users, It has been a long time since our last meeting, I hope you are all keeping cold free. I am suggesting that we have a meeting late July / early August at our usual venue the Melbourne Athenaeum Library and maybe a meal afterwards maybe at Le Pom, in Fed Square. It seems that Monday suits most of us, and mainly the Athenaeum Library who kindly host the meeting. Suggested dates July 20th or 27th or August 3rd at say, 5.30pm. Besides hearing how people are faring with Koha, some other topics for discussion are: Integrating Koha with Overdrive Analytics – how and when to use them Bootstrap Please ADD to these ideas. Also if you know of others who should be on the Koha Users Group email address list please let me know asap. On a personal note sorry about the silence for so long, I have been babysitting on Mondays and Fridays, work the other four days, and latterly been hit with a horrible cold ... but on the mend now. Hello All, On Tuesday evening, a small group of Koha users or interested in Koha, will meet to share a meal together and swap Koha experiences.
