I’m currently working on the Dementia Resources Library Catalog for the Brotherhood of St Laurence. Because this is a library of non book material most of the entries don’t have images (from Amazon or other sources). We’ve been uploading our own from photographs and distributors websites using the Upload Local Image tool. However these are not displaying in the Search results on the OPAC. This survey, now in its seventh annual iteration, provides an opportunity for libraries to register their perceptions of the strategic automation products they use, organizations that provide these products, and the quality of support delivered. The survey also probes at considerations for migrating to new systems and the level of interest in open source products. As open source software supported both by the general community and by specific companies, some special considerations apply to Koha. In the lib-web-cats directory, Koha is represented by a combination of the name Koha and the primary support organization involved. (For example Koha - Catalyst IT). Libraries relying entirely on community support or internal resources are represented as Koha - Independent. If there are any special support arrangements not covered by these conventions, just mention that in the comments area of the survey. In this way the survey will be able to reflect both the functionality of the Koha software and the quality of support provided. While the numeric rating scales support the statistical results of the study, it's the comments offered that provide the most insight into the current state of library automation satisfaction. Comments will be published in the survey results, redacted to conceal text that might identify the individual or organization responding. Please help your fellow libraries who might be in the process of evaluating library automation options by responding to the survey. Any information regarding vendor performance and product quality can be helpful when making strategic decisions regarding automation alternatives. A large number of responses strengthen the impact of the survey and the subsequent report. If you have responded in previous years, please respond again this year to help identify any trends regarding improvement or worsening of the products or support services. Before we take any action to fix the problem I would like to know if it is really necessary to display rental charges on the checkout screen? If a patron has existing fines or charges a message is shown at the top of the screen with the total. Those of use you charge rental fees, is it important to show rental fees on the checkout screen, or is it sufficient to see a total amount owed? Clicking through to the Fines page shows you accurate details of any outstanding fees or charges. The security update is available for the following new releases: 3.12.3 3.10.9 3.8.16 3.6.12 Patches are also available for 3.2.x and 3.4.x. The security update fixes a situation where manipulation of the cookie used for retaining OPAC search history for anonymous sessions could theoretically result in the execution of arbitrary code on a Koha webserver. We are aware of no active exploits at this time. The security issue can be mitigated by turning off the EnableOpacSearchHistory system preference We recommend that all Koha users upgrade as soon as possible. If you cannot upgrade immediately, we strongly encourage you to turn off the EnableOpacSearchHistory system preference until such time as you can upgrade. Users of the Debian packages for 3.10.x and 3.12.x can get the latest release by running apt-get update followed by apt-get upgrade. Because a new dependency was added recently, it may be necessary to run apt-get dist-upgrade instead or to run apt-get install koha-common. Visit to library using koha

Hello I'm a library manager who will be visiting Brisbane and Melbourne in a few weeks time. I'm interested in finding out more about how koha works and would love to visit library organisation/s which are using it. I would be especially grateful if you or colleagues would be able to spare time to show me around it and talk about your experiences of migrating to koha and implementing it in a network of libraries. I would also like to get a feel for how it works operationally and am particularly interested in libraries using self service with RFID and koha and/or organisations where you move stock between sites regularly. I'm got some free time in Brisbane on 20th, 21st, 23rd August and some free time in Melbourne on 2nd and 3rd September. Can you help? Thanks for all and any assistance.
