If on-shelf holds are allowed, limit the number of on-shelf holds a patron can place in one day. Uses a new syspref MaxShelfHoldsPerDay to set that number. For example, if the number is set to 5, a patron can only place five holds in one day on titles with at least one item available. The patron can place additional holds on items that are currently checked out, and can place more on-shelf holds tomorrow. Instead of using the staff/opac notes field in the patron record, this code uses a separate messaging system. It adds a new messages table and allows either free text or pre-defined notes to be added to patron record (for either library staff or patron). For predefined notes, create (if necessary) authorized value BOR_NOTES and add entries (examples: "Bring driver's license next time you come to the library" or "You left your umbrella at the library" etc.). On Checkout tab of patron record, click Add A New Message. Select from pulldown whether it's intended for patron or library staff. You can either use the pulldown for a canned message or enter text in the field. Notes to library staff will show up on patron Checkout tab; notes to patron will show in OPAC. It's sorting on the first column in the item table, which is item type. Owen Leonard is planning a more comprehensive fix for this problem; for now I've done a template change which puts the library/branch Location column first. This will sort the holdings in alphabetical order by library/branch. I've also done a minor change to the MARC21slim2OPACResults.xsl file, to put a space between the holding library and call number in the "Availability" line. If the library name and/or shelving location is wordy, the two can run together and a user can overlook the shelving location. I've added a new span class to the staff and OPAC .css files and applied it to shelving location in both templates. I've modified that file and XSLT.pm to pass that syspref value into the file and obey it for display. Note that there is not a separate OPAC syspref for this, just the one viewISBD in the Staff group. This means that part of the author field looks like Baeten, J. C. M ; Mauw, S .International Conference on Concurrency Theory 1999 : Eindhoven, Netherlands). Note the closing paren without the opening paren (which is found in the $n field). I set both results and display to check for a 111n/711n, and if present to display before subfield a. I also added a space before and after the subfield n. In the detail page, I wasn't able to figure out how to do this within the opening <a> for the live link on the author field, so the subfield n, if it displays, isn't part of the link along with the rest of the 111/711. Perhaps someone else can figure this one out. In separate but related (to the problem I was working) development, I've removed the period that XSLT puts in the results and display after the last occurrence of a 110/710. I've created three sysprefs, AutoSelfCheckAllowed, and AutoSelfCheckID/AutoSelfCheckPass. If the site wants to allow automated login, staff would then need to create the selfcheck user record and enter that login ID and password into the sysprefs. The kohaclone/opac/sco/sco-main.pl script has been modified to check these sysprefs and pass values (if present and allowed) into the self-check URL. They would prefer a name like Bookbag or Personal Shelf, but changing the name requires modifying a lot of template files (9 files, if I've found them all). I have not been successful at making the change to every place the Cart label is found with jquery statements. Therefore, I've created a syspref named opacbookbagName and modified the various templates to use its value.
