[Bug 27066] New: Implement Hooks for patron's updates
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 02 Oct '26

02 Oct '26

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=27066 Bug ID: 27066 Summary: Implement Hooks for patron's updates Change sponsored?: --- Product: Koha Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P5 - low Component: Plugin architecture Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: eric.begin(a)inLibro.com QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org Some of our clients use external systems to populate Koha's patron information. They can use Koha's API to update patron info, however, we don't have any way (that I know of) to notify an external system when a patron info is changed in Koha. In order to allow bidirectional communications, we are planning to add hooks. This will allow creating plugins to send messages to external systems in order to fulfil the following requirements : - Update patron information stored in the borrowers table (name, address, email, etc.) - Notify an external system when a restriction is placed on a user (fines, manual restrictions, overdues, etc.) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. [Bug 26573] New: Limit patron attribute types to more than one patron category
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 02 Oct '26

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=26573 Bug ID: 26573 Summary: Limit patron attribute types to more than one patron category Change sponsored?: --- Product: Koha Version: master Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: System Administration Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: caroline.cyr-la-rose(a)inlibro.com QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org CC: gmcharlt(a)gmail.com Currently, Koha doesn't allow to limit a patron attribute type to more than one patron category. Let's say I have a patron attribute type STUDENTID, and I want to limit this attribute to the categories "undergrad students" and "grad students". I have to create two different patron attribute types. To replicate: 1) Go to Administration > Patron attribute types 2) Create a new patron attribute 3) Note that the "Category" field is a dropdown and you can't choose more than one patron category to assign this attribute type to. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 17593] New: Extend circulation rules to include shelving location
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 02 Oct '26

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=17593 Bug ID: 17593 Summary: Extend circulation rules to include shelving location Change sponsored?: --- Product: Koha Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: Circulation Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: stefan.berndtsson(a)ub.gu.se QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org CC: gmcharlt(a)gmail.com, kyle.m.hall(a)gmail.com We are in the process of moving over to Koha, and are still trying to manage all the details around this. Circulation rules are a big thing we have to tackle here. At the moment, we have multiple libraries, and within each library we have both open and closed stacks as well as multiple other segmentations, all specified as shelving locations (authorized value LOC). These locations are not always governed by the same set of rules, so it would be very helpful if the system could support LOC as a circulation rule condition alongside library, patron category and item type. >From doing a fairly brief look at the code, it seems GetIssuingRule and GetLoanLength in C4/Circulation.pm are the main points where the ruleset is retreived. There will of course be all the places calling these two functions, as well as database management parts to consider. If we were to develop some sort of extension to these rules, what would be an appropriate approach? It should certainly be an option to turn on to be used, but should we consider LOC as a starting point, or should LOC just be one many possible choices in the configuration? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 20813] New: Revamp user permissions system
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 02 Oct '26

02 Oct '26

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=20813 Bug ID: 20813 Summary: Revamp user permissions system Change sponsored?: --- Product: Koha Version: master Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: Architecture, internals, and plumbing Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: kyle(a)bywatersolutions.com QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org Koha's current user permissions system is a bit convoluted and limited due to it's legacy where the permissions system was a simple set of flags. A second layer of sub-permissions were later added complication and obfuscation to the system. We should revamp the permissions system to be a more modern system and open the path to having unlimited nesting of sub-permissions instead of shoe-horning sub-permissions into the limited system we have. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 22972] New: Proposal for enriching the bibliographic records with standard identifiers from authority data
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 01 Oct '26

01 Oct '26

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=22972 Bug ID: 22972 Summary: Proposal for enriching the bibliographic records with standard identifiers from authority data Change sponsored?: --- Product: Koha Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: MARC Bibliographic data support Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: januszop(a)gmail.com QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org Target Milestone: --- Thinking in terms of linked data, it would be of profit to have as much of standard identifiers in the bibliographic data produced by the library as possible. Libraries use authority data coming from official sources (like LoC, SUDOC, etc.) or enrich their locally created authority records with standard identifiers (e.g. viafId, ISNI, Wikipedia). This information is linked to the bibliographic record by the Koha-specific subfield $9 which is illegal in terms of MARC 21 and does not mean anything outside of the local Koha ecosystem. A record moved out of a local Koha catalogue (downloaded, exported) loses the linked-data connection to other objects (like authors, subjects etc.), which are then identified only by strings. To make this connection between bibliographic access point and objects identified by universal identifiers more permanent outside of the local environment, the standard MARC 21 $0 subfield could be used. (UNIMARC has to be examined - $3 subfield?) The required changes would include at least: C4::AuthoritiesMarc::merge function, the authority plugin, some new system preferences, optionally display templates and also a script to update the existing biblio records. New possible system preferences needed: - switch the feature on/off - source of the standard IDs (possibly different for different biblio fields?) (standard in MARC 21 authority: 024, but may be also 010/035) (a list) - how many ids should be copied (= how may $0 added): only the first found or all of them - if an extra link/icon should be generated in display (OPAC / librarian) Please, share your comments about this idea. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 24910] New: Make it possible to choose see also-authorities in authority finder

You have to do another search to get it into the results list of auth finder. Wouldnt it be nice if we could somehow add a link to choose them too? The current link allows you to open them, but this seems less useful at least in our case. Would a preference be useful to switch between choosing or opening ? Or should we add a small link? How could we address that best in terms of styling etc? Your feedback is appreciated ! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. You are the assignee for the bug.
