If AcqCreateItem is set to "receiving an order" or "placing an order", you might want to know if the item you're receiving can fill a bib-level hold (i.e. "the next available item"). When one goes to print a slip in Chrome, a new browser tab is opened, and the "printThenClose" javascript initiates a print. However, instead of using the system dialogue box, it uses a Chrome-specific print preview screen. Since this preview screen is non-standard, the javascript doesn't even detect it, and it proceeds to close the window. (Not the most technical description but that's basically what happens.) Alas, I can't think of any way of getting around this problem. Some research suggests that people use timers or keyboard/mouse movement handlers, but none of those are really optimal strategies for fixing the problem. Another way of getting around it in Chrome is to open the browser using the "--args --disable-print-preview" flags. That will use the system dialogue (which halts the processing of the Javascript and thus the closing of the window until after the actual print is either initiated or cancelled) instead of the custom print screen. However, that might be a lot to ask from a lot of users. I suppose another idea might be to make the printing happen "silently" but then you don't get to choose your printer which is also sub-optimal. At the moment, the easiest thing is just to use a different browser (like Firefox) for circulation if the library prints slips. But again...not really an optimal solution to the problem. The problem is that the Content-Type isn't set to text/html, which means that the generated html email isn't displayed properly. The purpose of the suggestion is to make koha more flexible as it regards Z39.50 targets' encoding. >From what I can see in http://search.cpan.org/~mirk/Net-Z3950-ZOOM/lib/ZOOM.pod, the calling application (koha in our case ?) has to set the encoding conversion, and ZOOM forwards it in turn to the called YAZ module (as per http://www.indexdata.com/yaz/doc/zoom.records.html) YAZ in turn is supposed to be "a wrapper for the library system call iconv. But YAZ' iconv utility also implements conversions on its own" (as per http://www.indexdata.com/yaz/doc/yaz.pdf and http://www.gnu.org/savannah-checkouts/gnu/libiconv/documentation/libiconv-1. 13/iconv.1.html). In other words, besides marc8, marc8s, marc8lossy, marc8lossless, utf8, iso8859-1, iso5426, iso5428:1984, advancegreek and danmarc, encodings that it natively supports, YAZ is supposed to be able to handle all the encodings supported by iconv. I understand that the list of koha-supported encodings is currently hard-coded in the koha code. My request is that it would be moved to a table in the db, pre-populated with the encodings mentioned above. The koha admin could then select one of the preset values when editing a Z39.50 target, OR enter an encoding string of his/her choice, that would be quoted/passed-on to the underlying layers. For example, I should be able to select "Windows-1253" or "ISO-8859-7", but I should also be able to enter "ISO 8859-7:2003", and koha would happily and simply use this as the string describing source encoding when constructing queries or receiving result sets. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

While this may be correct for MARC21/USMARC installations, I understand that the correct entry for a UNIMARC installation would be “676a” for Dewey, or something similar. Both the default value and the example text could be amended to reflect this in UNIMARC installations. I have imported a "fresh" record using the Z39.50 search. I grabbed the "Linux Journal" record from the LC Z39.50 server. I have connected to Koha's Z39.50 server using the following command: yaz-client -c /etc/koha/zebradb/ccl.properties localhost:9999/biblios I run the command find linux and then show. I get a record that returns &lt and &gt, etc. instead of <, >, etc. This also happens when I connect to Koha's Z39.50 server using TLC's Cataloging module.
