This patch introduces a wrapper script to log and time cronjobs. The wrapper script's log output is used to analyze whther cronjobs ran and if there were any errors. Also cronjobs timings can be validated to prevent nasty errors with for. ex. expiring waiting holds one day too early/late. This check can also be integrated to nagios! Also provided is a scaffold to start introducing more nagios-checks, with example command and service configurations. This patch introduces a koha_cronjobs-script to read the /var/spool/cron/crontabs/koha and analysz its contents. Then one can validate whether the cronjob timings are right (this is not mentioned in the manual at all) and what is right is (currently) based on my honest feelings. Then each cronjobs frequency is determined and the cronjobs log output is checked based on the script parameters. Currently the cronjob frequencies are split to minutely, hourly, daily, etc. Koha_cronjobs-script is meant to be ran on those intervals to catch errors ASAP. This patch adds a new parameter: -x | --exclude-export Do not export Biblios from Koha, but use the existing export-dir Which depends on the: -d | --export-dir Where rebuild_zebra.pl will export data Default: $EXPORTDIR !---------! ! TEST PLAN ! !---------! 1. Run "./rebuild_zebra_sliced.sh --length 1000" to export 1000 MARC Records and slice them to one big 1000-Record chunk. 2. Realize that you get an imaginary "stack smashing detected"-error crashing your indexing at some Record you dont know of and can't make out from the indexing logging. 3. Start looking for the bad Record by running: "./rebuild_zebra_sliced.sh --exlude-export --chunk-size 10" To skip Biblios export from Koha which takes ~2h and get straight into splitting your exported biblios to chunks of 10, and importing them. This could mean it was also not responding to signals to shut down. Reworked the main loop to be a bit more careful about checking the connection status. Moved it from the Sip.pm module into the server where it seemed to belong more logically. This patch adds the "SearchCardnumberWithLDAP" system preference which will let you search for cardnumbers on a LDAP server. This feature only works in the Circulation section's "Check out" search bar. This feature is useful if you want to be able to checkout items for new users who were added on an LDAP server, but never connected on the OPAC. Here is how this feature works: * The librarian searches for a cardnumber in the intranet to do a checkout. * Search for the cardnumber in the local database. * If no borrower was found, SearchCardnumberWithLDAP is activated and an LDAP server is configured, search for the borrower on the LDAP server. * If a borrower was found on the LDAP server, add it to the local database. Also: * If the borrower was found in the local database, SearchCardnumberWithLDAP is activated and an LDAP server is configured, the borrower is updated using the informations on the LDAP server. This patch allows a header to be considered an authoritative source of user ID. This only works with a plack-like environment, when apache is running Koha as CGI I think the headers come through using a different method. An example configuration would be: <Location /> ... mod_auth_mellon config goes here ... Header unset X_REMOTE_USER RequestHeader unset X_REMOTE_USER RequestHeader set X_REMOTE_USER %{MELLON_sfdcid}e </Location> (REMOTE_USER seems to have a special use to apache that means it doesn't work, hence using X_REMOTE_USER.)
