Some libraries like this aspect of IndependentBranches but don't want everything else that comes with turning on IndependentBranches. If that server is behind a proxy these features do not work. We can use Plack::Middleware::RealIP to automatically convert the X-Forwarded-For header into the REMOTE_ADDR environment variable so no Koha code need be modified. A future enhancement could be to take advantage of the module's trusted_proxy setting to allow Koha to use these feature even after going through *multiple* proxies. In Koha we are using kohafield in auth_subfield_structure only for the link between authid and 001, as well as authtypecode and 942a. We do not have any further "kohafield functionality" as on the biblio side for additional fields like title, author, etc. (There is no authority counterpart for transform marc to koha, etc.) Sub GetAuthMARCFromKohaField is only called a few times (once in AuthoritiesMarc.pm and twice in authorities.pl). In e.g. SearchAuthorities, GuessAuthid, AddAuthority, etc. 001 is hardcoded. This actually means that you should really NEVER change the "kohafield" mapping in the Subfield structure of Admin/Authority types for 001 and 942a. Something like what we have over in classsources.pl for creating and testing a regex splitting rule -- a place to put in some sample text to apply your regex to for matching/substitution to make sure it works as intended.
