This bug proposes providing an official, minimal bootstrap script for Debian/Ubuntu only, whose sole responsibility is to: - Install the Koha APT signing key - Configure the Koha APT repository - Run apt update After this step, installation continues exactly as required: apt install koha-common Rationale / Motivation: - Reduces installation friction for first-time and test installations on supported platforms - Encourages a single, auditable implementation instead of many unofficial ones - Simplifies automation, CI, containers, and provisioning workflows - Keeps Koha's existing packaging and installation model unchanged Reference Implementation: A reference implementation currently used in production for ~2 years is available here: https://github.com/saiful-semantic/KohaOnUbuntu This is provided to illustrate the approach, not as a final implementation. The reference implementation is validated using GitHub Actions CI on both Ubuntu LTS (20.04, 22.04, 24.04) and Debian (11, 12). While that text suggests that the --frombranch flag will only change which branch's address info is populated in overdue notices, this flag actually controls which branch's triggers will be used as well as which branch's notice content will be used. We should change that text to: Set the branch to use when selecting triggers and populating addresses. In particular, it would be great if there were some way to create a Patron Attribute Type that the patron has the ability to check or fill out, that would allow the loan of the above items. It would be nice if we replaced the system preference with individual "snippets". These could live somewhere like HTML customizations. This would bring more organization to JS customization. It could also allow staff to see how created/edited/deleted certain blocks much easier. It could also make it easier to incorporate different permission checks for who can create/edit/delete JS. In Point of Sale module, you are allowed to edit the cost of a sale item, and change the amount tendered. But the system won't allow you to input negative numbers for cost. For example, if we want to refund a patron $20 from their print account, we take $20 out of the register and hand it to the patron. Point of Sale has no way to record this refund, since the money was collected long ago and over many transactions (i.e. there is no specific transaction to refund). As a result, the register in POS will be over by $20.
