Where the encoding is stored in 100$a (position 26-27 iirc) in usmarc, unfortunatly, 100$a is ... the author. so I think that Koha is confused by the mix. Unfortunatly, Koha can't handle multi-marc catalogue atm. Thus, if your isbn was already in, the result was empty. I've fixed the problem : all results are always returned, whatever their status in DB or reservoir. let me know if it solves your pb now.
