Library staff needed a report of expired or cancelled holds to help clean the holds shelf. While developing this, we realized that Koha had no mechanism to move naturally-expired holds to the old_reserves table. Holds that are actively cancelled get moved, but holds that expire after the period calculated from the ReservesMaxPickUpDelay syspref stay in the active reserves table. We added a field named expirationdate to reserves and old_reserves. When a hold is triggered, its expiration date is calculated from the syspref and written to this field. A nightly cron job script looks for expired holds based on this field and moves them from reserves to old_reserves. The new report Expired Holds checks for expired holds; output can be specified by patron name or date. The downloaded file only contains patron records up to the letter D. Using irregular is problematic, particularly when bimonthly is quite regular and common. Shouldn't be too hard to add a case in the Javascript to handle this; value 13 is still available, but logically, this should be value 4 or 5. That would require displacing existing periodicity values, however. A better, larger solution would be to change the values from numeric to alphanumeric, and match them to the MARC 21 Format for Holdings Data 853$ field (http://www.loc.gov/marc/holdings/hd853855.html) a - Annual j - Three times a month b - Bimonthly k - Continuously updated c - Semiweekly m - Monthly d - Daily q - Quarterly e - Biweekly s - Semimonthly f - Semiannual t - Three times a year g - Biennial w - Weekly h - Triennial x - Completely irregular i - Three times a week This would improve standardization, provide more immediate options, and increase the flexibility to add new options down the road, without insertion problems. Specifically, in the table "language_rfc4646_to_iso639", when the field "rfc4646_subtag" has the value "pt", the field "iso639_2_code" should have the value of "por" and NOT the current one of "pol" ("pol" refers to "Polish" as correctly also appears for the code "pl", in the row above the "pt" one). In my test setups, this showed some serious sequences for people that choose the Portuguese language in the Web Installer, namely: - very weird look of Staff client with missing Header and Footer, that renders the Staff client unusable - Portuguese translation apparently not getting updated for the OPAC (for people that do an Upgrade from a previous version) I prepared a patch to correct this for the 3.0.x branch (I have tested it locally and it seems to be working fine). I do NOT have a database set for the Master branch, so I probably won't be able to test a patch for that branch.
