This means that part of the author field looks like Baeten, J. C. M ; Mauw, S .International Conference on Concurrency Theory 1999 : Eindhoven, Netherlands). Note the closing paren without the opening paren (which is found in the $n field). I set both results and display to check for a 111n/711n, and if present to display before subfield a. I also added a space before and after the subfield n. In the detail page, I wasn't able to figure out how to do this within the opening <a> for the live link on the author field, so the subfield n, if it displays, isn't part of the link along with the rest of the 111/711. Perhaps someone else can figure this one out. In separate but related (to the problem I was working) development, I've removed the period that XSLT puts in the results and display after the last occurrence of a 110/710. I've created three sysprefs, AutoSelfCheckAllowed, and AutoSelfCheckID/AutoSelfCheckPass. If the site wants to allow automated login, staff would then need to create the selfcheck user record and enter that login ID and password into the sysprefs. The kohaclone/opac/sco/sco-main.pl script has been modified to check these sysprefs and pass values (if present and allowed) into the self-check URL. They would prefer a name like Bookbag or Personal Shelf, but changing the name requires modifying a lot of template files (9 files, if I've found them all). I have not been successful at making the change to every place the Cart label is found with jquery statements. Therefore, I've created a syspref named opacbookbagName and modified the various templates to use its value. I thought this was related to Bug 3589, since it seemed to be related to highlighting, but that was misleading. After much troubleshooting on the IRC with Owen Leonard (THANKS!), I tracked the problem to a search term that begins with a space. For example, from the page source: <input type="hidden" name="q" value="seasons"/> <input type="hidden" name="q" value=" seasons"/> The second case triggers the error; the first doesn't. Testing by manually searching for a term beginning with a space always triggers the error. I added a couple of lines to opac-search.pl to check for leading and trailing spaces in the query and remove them: ## I. This means that a particular library's holdings will be scattered through the list -- a special problem when it comes to serial issues. I've done a change to Items.pm that makes the sort order branch description followed by dateaccessioned. Thus, a library's holdings will be grouped together in the display. All of the lines after the point where the XSLT icons for material type etc. would display are in a much smaller font than normal for other titles. If I create even the briefest 007 for this record (ta in first two positions), the display goes back to normal. So I think there must be a mis-matched span or something around the section in MARC21slim2OPACResults.xsl that looks for and displays the type icons, but I haven't been able to spot it. First change is to copy the Search button from the bottom of the screen to up under the Keyword etc. search boxes, so someone doesn't have to scroll down for it. Either button will work. Second change is to reorder the entries in the search box pulldowns. I've rearranged the list so that Keyword, Title, Subject, Author are first in the list, as I did in the OPAC advanced search. I moved Barcode and Standard Number to next in the list to make them more visible to staff, and modified the description of Standard Number to Standard (biblio) Number because it's not clear that it means the biblio number. This feature puts a "Search to Hold" button on the patron checkout tab. Clicking that button pops up an advanced search screen on top of the patron checkout tab. Search for an item, and a "Hold for patronname" button appears in the results list on each title.
