It would be better to remove the search bar, login links, etc. in order to send a clear message to the user that the system is offline. I propose to remove everything but the system maintenance message (see first attachment). I propose to remove the hover behavior, style the cart to match the existing menu links, and change the way informational messages are triggered: 1. The message about contents of the cart will not show on hover 2. The message will appear if you click the link when there is nothing in your cart 3. "Check all" is good, but possibly impractical for a library with many branches and collection code/item types. My patch adds selection by row and by column, as well as check/uncheck/toggle all for individual ccode/itype tables. The patch also breaks the single large table into tabs for each ccode/itype.
