It doesn't solve a privacy issue, because another person walking up to the computer to find this prompt can just hit 'Cancel.' So, if I have a 4 page list and I want to know what is newest, I have to sort by date on each page. This should sort the whole list by date regardless of how many pages there are. I suggest a preference to how you would like the list sorted. But this change has not been reflected in scripts that use this syspref, in particular opac-search.pl (also probably updatedatabase.pl, sysprefs.sql et al.). As a result changing this syspref does not makes callnumbers to appear in search result list. My workaround follows.
