Thinking a bit more about it: I am not sure saving patron information in logs was avoided for privacy reasons? You could always turn off the borrowers log if you don't want this information to be saved. Or we could make the borrowers log system preference have different settings for the kind of information that should be saved. No information, information about time and staff updating and a complete log telling you the changes. XSLT gives us an alternate tool for it in most cases. The only claim letter I see in master is for acquisitions, not for serials: ('claimacquisition','ACQCLAIM','Acquisition Claim','Item Not Received','<<aqbooksellers.name>>\r\n<<aqbooksellers.address1>>\r\n<<aqbooksellers.address2>>\r\n<<aqbooksellers.address3>>\r\n<<aqbooksellers.address4>>\r\n<<aqbooksellers.phone>>\r\n\r\nOrdernumber <<aqorders.ordernumber>> (<<aqorders.title>>) (<<aqorders.quantity>> ordered) ($<<aqorders.listprice>> each) has not been received.'), I think it's ok to have the letters in the mandatory folder because some letters require to be added with a specific code, like 'HOLD' or 'HOLD_PRINT'.
