This will reduce the number of moving parts, so to speak. Proposed subroutine in C4::Branch: GetBranchCount(). Attached patch is my first try at it. Comments welcome. I wrote it for my employee (Mathematisches Institut der Universität Bonn) and it's targeted towards using Koha for acquisitions at our Institute's library (Fachbibliothek Mathematik der Universität Bonn). It introduces a new notice/letter/form orders/ORDEREMAIL which may look as follows (in german): Guten Tag. <item><<orders.quantity>> Stück <<orders.full_title>> von <<orders.author>>, ISBN <<orders.isbn>> zu <<orders.ecost>> (Listenpreis <<orders.listprice>>), Summe <<orders.quantity_ecost>></item> <total>Insgesamt <<orders.total.quantity>> Poste(n), Gesamtpreis <<orders.total.ecost_gsti>> incl. <<orders.total.gstrate>>% MWSt. Der Bestellung liegt ein Rabatt von <<orders.total.discount>>% zugrunde. I would say that only superlibrarians can make other staff superlibrarians, and I'd go even further to say that only superlibrarians should be able to change their own permissions - but I think this is probably due for some discussion either way because it's a pretty big oversight. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I think we need to make it clear which permissions are dependent on other permissions. A sentence with one bold word or group of consecutive words thus becomes 3 separate strings. This behaviour makes it pretty difficult to work on this kind of sentence when translating, as the translator has to search for the strings separately in the translation tool. Also this forces the translator to follow the same structure as the original for the translated sentence (e.g. normal BOLD normal) which will not necessarily work out in the target language. There are some examples in the right column ("notes") on the admin page at Home › Tools › Import Patrons. For instance in the last bullet point: "must", translated into French, will have different forms according to what the subject is. It's plural here so it would be "doivent", the translated sentence however has "doit" which is a correct translation when the subject is singular. Finding the correct "doit" in the tool to correct the translation is very impractical. So basically the error message is right, but one of the items that can't be put on hold is still allowing holds. See attached. I need someone to test this further to confirm that it's an error and what's causing it.
