There was a message about new version of the database, but no errors occured. This button is displaying in every view except the MARC view. Best guess at an explanation : To display this button we check for the presence of items that are available for loan. This check used to be done on the appropriate 995 subfield in this view. Which doesn't work anymore since we don't manage items in the marcxml any longer. The line in question is part of GetNormalizedUPC: @fields = $record->field('024'); Called by VirtualShelves/Page.pm: $this_item->{'normalized_upc'} = GetNormalizedUPC($record,$marcflavour); Seems like there's several things that can be done here: 1. Remove titles from lists when they are deleted. The disadvantage here is that someone might have been using a list as a bibliography, for instance, and losing the title makes their information incomplete. To follow up: 2. Add error handling to VirtualShelves/Page.pm. Don't try to pull the full MARC data for a biblionumber which doesn't exist. Some choices for the display: a. Pretend nothing happened, title never existed b. Indicate that a title was removed, no information available. c. Indicate that a title was removed, pull basic info from deletedbiblio. 3. Add error handling to Koha.pm. Don't die if an empty record gets passed. Most of us developers probably have wide monitors, so we never notice this, but if you shrink the window or use a narrower (ie older/cheaper) monitor, it'll become obvious quite rapidly. Search for all subscriptions and you'll notice the DataTable running off the right side of the page http://KOHA/cgi-bin/koha/serials/serials-search.pl?searched=1&title_filter= Look at the detail page for a bibliographic record that has a really long URL in an item record http://KOHA/cgi-bin/koha/catalogue/detail.pl?biblionumber=1 -- As Liz has mentioned, this is a problem that plagues many (re: most) web apps. It happens on Bugzilla as well if you narrow your screen. Tables and text-areas will overflow to the right. Even if we make it so that the containing <div> expands to the width of the overflowing table...there will come a point when there are siblings of the parent that won't stretch to the edge of the page. In our library, some bosses ask their staffs to borrow books for them, and these bosses aren't even in the Patron's database of our Koha ILS. I'm thinking I can use the guardian option (parent-child) but these staffs and bosses are both adults, so it's actually awkward, and actually does not fit the bill. And also, in one of the Koha projects I am currently involved with, they wanted to know if a certain material borrowed for photocopying can be tag such, so this feature on notes/tags on circulation transactions came up again in my mind. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
