Sometimes this means many extra clicks to pick an end date. I haven't looked at the places in which this could happen, but the code implementing the checks in Koha::Hold clearly misses the use case. One of the columns is called "Checked out". I would assume this is the date the item was checked out, but it is in fact the due date (from items.onloan).
