Self check unit has the responsibility of collecting that fee and can then proceed repeating the request but with fee acknowledged set to Y, this request should then succeed. Currently this is not happening on older versions renew requests are always rejected if there is a fee irrespective of the value of the fee acknowledged field. On master there is an additional problem that the server is crashing due to a runtime error when processing the fee. This bug has not manifested for many users as 3m and most other self-check units actually send a checkout request not a renewal request when renewing items. It would be helpful to show an information bubble when the user is hovering over the greyed out "remove" button. This would let the user know that due to the fact this item is checked out, the item can not be removed and therefore the "remove" button is not available. Add Items to an Existing Course Check out one of those items to a patron Go back to Course and see that the Item's ability to be removed is greyed out. Since theres no indexes for subscription.biblionumber and serial.subscriptionid, the SQL server will do a full table scans on both tables, which takes a very long time, especially if you have 100,000 subscriptions and approximately one million series registered. To improve response time, at least two indexes are required. I will therefore suggest these two indexes to be built: alter table serial add index idx_serial_subscriptionid using btree (subscriptionid); alter table subscription add index idx_subscription_biblionumber (biblionumber); It's also strange that the subscriptionid in serial is a varchar(100). In subscriptions table, subscriptionid is an int.
