Every time a change is made a complete copy of the record is stored along with the date/time and user identity. The changes are listed under each field in the MARC record editor and can be reverted with a click. The changes are stored as a JSON array in a new column named 'history' in the database. The array is re-read from the database before updating the record to prevent old data lingering in the session from overwriting newer changes made by other users. If we decide to implement this feature it might be better to simply create a new table altogether and link it rather than the clumsy JSON solution. That would eliminate a lot of bulky code that transforms MARC-KOHA-JSON and back while ensuring data integrity. Also, there are plans to add permissions to the MARC records; this likely requires more complex interactions that will scale badly with the current JSON solution. At present, the history is hardcoded to 10 entries. This can easily be made into a syspref. The current implementation should probably be refactored into a 'BiblioHistory' class before deploying. Documentation of the functions/methods are also needed. Icon is ugly and needs to be improved. It would be nice to have 2D barcode support as well, as more information is crammed in less space and the result square-sized barcode can easily be put UNDER (or OVER) a biblio spine label! We want the standard reports that staff use to manage authority control available on this page, to prompt them to generate the appropriate reports at the correct times. It should show all issues, even non deliveries so patrons can identify unavailability. Show all serial issues regardless of status display in the opac. By this I mean for example: the record for ET Electrical Times in KOHA serials. https://librarystaff.it-tallaght.ie/cgi-bin/koha/serials/serials-collection… Please note that an issue that is marked claimed or not issued does not show on the OPAC. https://librarysearch.it-tallaght.ie/cgi-bin/koha/opac-detail.pl?biblionumb… Only arrived issues show. Users don’t know what happened to missing issues. It would it be useful for them to know, especially re issues, claimed, damaged or cancelled. We are running into queries about the issues that do not display. At least if they showed it would give an indication that the physical copy is not in the library. This change will enable no serials staff to deal with the queries that we get in relation to why particular issues cannot be located and provides information to the patron so they can decide whether to locate the article by other means. Taking this opportunity to add a full test plan: Instead of duplicating the code for serial statuses in multiple files, move all of them into single include file, and use that. To test, apply the patch and go to Serials. - Search for a subscription which has multiple issues. - On the subscription detail page, open the "Issues" tab. - Statuses in the "Status" column should display correctly. - Click the "Serial collection" link in the sidebar. - In the table of issues, the "Status" colunn should display the correct information. - Select some isues and click the "Edit serials" button. - In the "Status" column, the options should display correctly. - Test setting various statuses and saving. The statuses should save correctly. - Click "Claims" in the sidebar menu and select a vendor. - In the list of missing issues the "Status" column should show the correct information. - In the catalog, locate the bibliographic record for a subscription with issues. - Under the "Subscriptions" tab check the "Status" column.
