This bug would preload these vocabularies for new instances of Koha. There are two AV categories per field, one for the human-readable term ($a) and one for a short code ($b). I made the lib/lib_opac text for the codes the term they represent, so one does not have to memorize the meanings of the codes. I do not see any instance of an authorized value being connected with a MARC field during installation (looking in installer/data/mysql/en/marcflavour/marc21/mandatory/marc21_framework_DEFAULT.yml where all the authorised_value properties are empty) so I have not done so with these either. That seems reasonable; some libraries may want to use different terms. But the RDA vocabs are widely used and stable, so including them as an option for catalogers is worthwhile. Bug 19263 introduced a feature that uses an authorized value to set up ranges of auto-incremented control numbers in bib records. Could something similar be used for card numbers? There is an Italian title with an ISBN of 8885795692 that is showing instead. It looks like they have updated the valid ISBN standards: https://isbn.org/about_isbn_standard and it seems like coce should be updated to recognize this new standard and not match 9798885795692 to be the same as 8885795692. The reason being that you can't provide user/password system preferences for an automatic login, like you can for the self-checkout (SCO) counterpart. Our use case is the following: we are already using the SCO module with automatic login of the dedicated SCO patron, and our actual patrons identify themselves via their cardnumber. While they can obviously check in their books via the SCO module, we'd like to streamline the process such that they don't have to login with their cardnumber in order to simply return a book.
