[Bug 43482] New: Force_checkout permission needed to override uncaptured hold checkouts
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 08 Sep '26

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=43482 Bug ID: 43482 Summary: Force_checkout permission needed to override uncaptured hold checkouts Initiative type: --- Sponsorship --- status: Product: Koha Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: Circulation Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: michael.adamyk(a)bywatersolutions.com QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org CC: gmcharlt(a)gmail.com, kyle(a)bywatersolutions.com Target Milestone: --- Bug 23909 allows Self-checkout and SIP to circulate an item that has a pending hold. Unfortunately, staff don't have this granularity. Trying to check out an item with a pending hold (even if it is not yet captured or waiting) requires an override, and staff must have the very broad force_checkout permission (force checkout if a limitation exists) in order to circulate. Most libraries choose to circulate items with uncaptured holds to the patron standing in front of them, and because of 23909 it seems that should be set to not require an override. The current workardound is either to give staff broad override permissions, or to suspend a pending hold, check out the item, and then unsuspend the hold. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. [Bug 42897] New: FilterSearchResultsByLoggedInBranch display should expand and collapse

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=42897 Bug ID: 42897 Summary: FilterSearchResultsByLoggedInBranch display should expand and collapse Initiative type: --- Sponsorship --- status: Product: Koha Version: 25.11 Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: Searching Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: kkrueger(a)cuyahogalibrary.org QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org Target Milestone: --- With the new system preference FilterSearchResultsByLoggedInBranch, it would be nice to be able to expand and collapse the view of all holdings at all locations without needing to keep toggling between show items in all libraries and show local items only. When defaulting to show items in all libraries, a popular title with many copies or a magazine like People with many issues and copies can take up most of the screen of search results. Having an expand/collapse display of holdings across the system per bib record in the results would be ideal. For example, A court of thorns and roses large print edition has 2 copies available at the logged in branch, which show in the location column. There are 27 other copies, which show when clicking on an expand button for that bib in the search results. Clicking the button again collapses the results back to the two at the logged in branch. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. You are watching all bug changes.

[Bug 43400] New: Add granularity to AllowHoldCheckoutOverride
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 08 Sep '26

08 Sep '26

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=43400 Bug ID: 43400 Summary: Add granularity to AllowHoldCheckoutOverride Initiative type: --- Sponsorship --- status: Product: Koha Version: 26.05 Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: System Administration Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: sbrown(a)bywatersolutions.com QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org CC: gmcharlt(a)gmail.com Depends on: 23909 Target Milestone: --- With the updates to AllowItemsOnHoldCheckoutSIP and AllowItemsOnHoldCheckoutSCO from bug 23909, administrators can now choose whether patrons can check out items with pending holds, or pending *and* waiting holds, or neither via SIP and SCO. However, the new AllowHoldCheckoutOverride system preference only has options for 'Allow' and 'Don't allow' without any distinction between allowing override of pending holds vs. waiting holds. This means that there is less flexibility in policy for staff who are checking items out to patrons than for patrons who check out via SIP and SCO. It would be helpful if AllowHoldCheckoutOverride had the same options for *types* of holds that can be overridden that now exist for AllowItemsOnHoldCheckoutSIP and AllowItemsOnHoldCheckoutSCO so that policies can be aligned no matter how patrons are checking out items. Referenced Bugs: https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=23909 [Bug 23909] SCO allows to check out items with Waiting state if AllowItemsOnHoldCheckoutSCO -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
