[Bug 14907] Item search: Call Numbers in Item search results are ordered alphabetically

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=14907 --- Comment #9 from Heather <heather_hernandez(a)nps.gov> --- Hi, Gretchen! We are on 23.05.11, and our call numbers are sorting correctly (except for some of the very different geographic call numbers with colons in them), but we do not have the period/full stop in front of the initial cutter in the item records. We do have the call numbers formatted correctly in the bib record 050 and 090 fields, but we strip that period/full stop from the item record call number. (Our catalog is at http://keys.bywatersolutions.com/ ) There is some sorting weirdness with geographic call numbers that have colons in them, but that's not part of this bug!:) So we're not able to replicate the problem initially reported in this bug, even with the initial alphanumeric sequence of the call number. (And in the initial report, "QA76.760" wouldn't be valid anyway--the initial alphanumeric sequence's decimal portion can never end with a zero.) [Bug 34286] New: UpdateNotForLoanStatusOnCheckin doesn't update when there are holds or transfers

A lot of libraries check in items to get them out of processing statuses and it would make sense for the notforloan to be changed at that point, even if there is a hold. [Bug 35308] New: Maintain sort order when exporting Item Search results to barcode file

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=35308 Bug ID: 35308 Summary: Maintain sort order when exporting Item Search results to barcode file Change sponsored?: --- Product: Koha Version: master Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P5 - low Component: Searching Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: andrewfh(a)dubcolib.org QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org When one performs an item search, if one changes the sorting on the results page and then exports to a barcode file, the barcode file reverts to itemnumber order. It'd be helpful if the barcodes were exported matching the selected sort order. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. You are watching all bug changes.

[Bug 14907] Item search: Call Numbers in Item search results are ordered alphabetically

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=14907 Gretchen Maxeiner <maxeinergl(a)gcc.edu> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |maxeinergl(a)gcc.edu --- Comment #8 from Gretchen Maxeiner <maxeinergl(a)gcc.edu> --- We would very much like to see improvement to call number sorting for Library of Congress classification in Item Search. We are new to Koha and working in 24.05, and the sort is alphabetical instead of based on LC filing order. Examples are: D101.2.A8 1951 D1015.B4 1965 D102.D3 1930 and E129.D7 B47 2021 E13.M3 1968 E143.S76 2013 It's a little unclear if this was actually an issue in past releases from the comments above, but I wanted to document that the sort is definitely incorrect in the current release. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. [Bug 5594] Option to configure default sort order for items on bib records
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 01 Jul '24

01 Jul '24

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=5594 Gretchen Maxeiner <maxeinergl(a)gcc.edu> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |maxeinergl(a)gcc.edu --- Comment #15 from Gretchen Maxeiner <maxeinergl(a)gcc.edu> --- We too are interested in more logical presentation of multi-volume, multi-copy holdings in the OPAC. Like others who have commented we have large serials and monographic set runs. We are migrating to Koha in a few weeks off a system that allowed item record movement, so staff and patrons are used to items being presented in volume or copy number order. In testing our items did not migrate to Koha in a logical order (we're working on that for the actual migration), and it is an issue that we cannot adjust item order once in Koha. This is also impacting data harvest to our Discovery system. A sort option based on call number (including volumes and copies) would be a useful feature. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. [Bug 18829] New: Elasticsearch - Add ability to view the ES indexed record

[Bug 37224] New: Mapping advanced search to Z39.50 should handle multiple terms that map to the same field
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 28 Jun '24

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=37224 Bug ID: 37224 Summary: Mapping advanced search to Z39.50 should handle multiple terms that map to the same field Change sponsored?: --- Product: Koha Version: Main Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P5 - low Component: Searching Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: phil(a)chetcolibrary.org QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org If you do an advanced search for author: karp and author as phrase: patterson, james (I can never remember Karp's first name) and then click the Z39.50/SRU search button in the results, you will only get the first of the two author terms filled in in the author search field. Along with author and author, phrase we have two flavors of subject mapped to subject, and three flavors of title including series mapped to title, so an even more likely example would be a search for title: wood and series: things that burn to not get every single title with 'wood' in it. And I want to add one more, because callnum should be mapped to keyword rather than Dewey. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. You are the assignee for the bug.
