For example, holds are set to expire in 5 days. I change the expiration date to 10 days. Typically I would check the item in to trigger a new hold slip, but when I do, the expiration date is reset to 5 days. It would be really helpful to have a print hold slip button on the holds table, not just for this scenario, but for other situations too, such as when a staff member checks an item in to generate a new slip, the waiting date is changed. In OPAC there is something of that kind - "This record has many physical items (xxx). Click here to view them all." I agree with Rebecca, that the feature will be most helpful if there's the ability to auto-remove the "display" designation via check-out or check-in actions, so that the item is converted back to it's original shelving location upon check-out/in. There is currently no way for our Circ staff to know if an item was previously on display because they are using third party RFID software for check-ins. We've created a negative Not for Loan authorized value to indicate when items are on display because the status can be auto-updated (removed) at the time of check-in. It would be nice if "Default checkout, hold and return policy" & "Holds policy by item type" by library could be set by either "local hold group" (which currently allows any branch in any local hold group it's in) OR to allow a specific hold group. Example of where having both would be useful: Library Group A: Library 1 Library 4 Library 5 Library 6 Library 7 No other branches (2, 3, 8) can place holds on any of those libraries items. Library Group B: Library 4 Library 5 Library 6 Group B wants a specific item type to be available to their patrons but not to library 1 or 7, even if they're picking up at library 4, 5, or 6 for some reason. It erases data. From an acquisitions standpoint, I need to add the item back on to the Bib record and input the item information again.
