The trouble is that with just the debar flag there's no way to tell whether a patron has been debarred for overdues or whether the debar flag was set by a librarian manually. Galen, are you proposing that Koha have another kind of flag that would be set only for a "transitory condition," or do you propose that circulation.pl alone check for those conditions. See highlighted items below." hdl, are you suggesting that the librarian should have to confirm checkouts for any patron who has overdues, just as we have to confirm something like overriding a checkout limit? ("Too many checked out (already checked out / max : 10) Yes Check Out? No, Don't Check Out"). In my opinion, that's what the debarred status is for. If the librarian shouldn't check out to someone they should be debarred. I'm assuming that's what you're referring to Cookie? The Holds Queue report (/cgi-bin/koha/circ/view_holdsqueue.pl) doesn't have an option to sort.
