If I press 'Select All' all the checkboxes on that page are being selected. Current head has removed the item type column altogether, but one of my libraries would like to show item type. However, obviously, the item type should be the proper one, not the 942c. In these instances, the item arrives at the borrowing location, they scan it at check in and get the message "Item must be checked in at home library." In both of these cases, without the "Transfer" ability, I have to make the transfer for them. This is not a workable situation. For the vast majority of cases, creating a new default template variable means updating both routines; failing to do this results in bugs like bug 9541.
