We don't use the gender option at all, but what would be useful to us any everyone everywhere would be a way to encode preferred gender pronouns and have those pronouns display with the name somewhere, maybe with the "other name" or after all names anywhere they appear? These are just some scattered thoughts trying to help the software help us to be more inclusive. We cannot fund a development, but I imagine many libraries in the wider community would be interested in this. Divorced parents with shared custody, grandparents involved, etc, situations require the need for 2 or more guarantors. Is anyone not working on this, to echo Nicole's comments from 2009? To solve this, I propose a syspref to switch between Hide/Show Full manual/Show Concise manual, something like DocumentationOnMARCeditor. I'm pretty sure http://www.loc.gov/marc/bibliographic/concise/ are all available MARC21 fields on Concise manual. PopupMARCFieldDoc JavaScript on marcdocs HTML class might be modified. On a second step, is useful to select between languages, but AFAIK LOC doesn't give a good support or API (PDF only for Spanish or German, for eg).
