Since some APIs under /svc/ happen to use that MIME type in their responses, a bit of bandwidth can be unnecessarily wasted. However, the lack of compression is of more import for svc/cataloguing/framework, which transfers a megabyte or so whenever it is invoked to fetch the default MARC21 framework (and presumably a similar amount of data for other MARC frameworks). In Koha we are using kohafield in auth_subfield_structure only for the link between authid and 001, as well as authtypecode and 942a. We do not have any further "kohafield functionality" as on the biblio side for additional fields like title, author, etc. (There is no authority counterpart for transform marc to koha, etc.) Sub GetAuthMARCFromKohaField is only called a few times (once in AuthoritiesMarc.pm and twice in authorities.pl). In e.g. SearchAuthorities, GuessAuthid, AddAuthority, etc. 001 is hardcoded. This actually means that you should really NEVER change the "kohafield" mapping in the Subfield structure of Admin/Authority types for 001 and 942a. It's likely the technology is no longer supported as windows.applicationCache is deprecated and cannot be used in a not secure context (http). I am not really sure if the problem comes from my koha or that, so I am asking the community if this feature still works. I tested an updated master in https on Firefox 66.0.2.
