When receiving or editing a serial (serials-edit.pl), there is currently a link 'Click to add item'. When saving the serial, an item record is also created with the details entered in the item form. This will only affect MARC::Records, and as such will leave some visibility gaps still. Currently the logic for this type of authorization is centralized under Koha::REST::V1::Auth::check_object_ownership with some messy, hard to understand and possibly at some point in future even insecure logic. When run the usual way, our trick works, the perl interpreter matches 'prove': $ENV{_} eq 'prove' In other situations, we have the KOHA_NO_TABLE_LOCKS environment variables, for the SendCirculationAlert race conditions (see bug 15854 and bug 18364).
